Okay, I admit I haven't even looked at my website for over a month now. So many things to do so little time. School is going great! I could continue typing on why it's so great but I think I'll stick to the website. One thing you'll notice is the Computer and Movie Talk have their own pages. Wooh! I hope to get some albums up with pictures of Nanaimo. Who knows when you'll hear from me next. ;o)

Hooked up the internet in my room. Today I went shopping at Woodgrove all day long. Happy to be back in Canada with friends. :o) I also registered for Grade 12! Woodlands is getting some construction while I was there but it's the same ol' school. Kind of excited to be starting classes in a week. (September 3rd)

Uploaded my pictures from Tokyo, Hawaii and Vancouver. Also got some shots of my room here in Nanaimo. I'll try and put them on my site. Cause, hey! Why should I stop now that I've left Taiwan?!

So sorry for not updating my news lately. I've been so busy! I'm back in Canada! During my big flight I got pretty sick. I stayed at my cousin Wolfgang's place in Vancouver for 2 nights. Then took at ferry to Nanaimo. Here I'm settled in with Terri and Ken, good friends of mine. My mom is still in Taiwan teaching English. I'll keep you updated.

Claire left for London, England. She arrives in Taiwan a few days after I leave for Canada..! :o\ I will miss her. Here is a picture of us. I guess I will have to come back to Taiwan for a visit sometime. ;o)

Came home to find ..a room-mate in our apartment! :o\ His name's Jamie. He's 28 years old and from Canada. Real nice and funny. The thing is: we weren't told we would have another teacher coming to live with us! It was all a surprise. Still, we are very lucky to have a good room-mate (who is very clean). He's already furnished his room with a 29" TV, CD Player and Playstation 2. haha.

Wow. What an awesome vacation! We went to Kenting for the week. Our hotel was right across the street from the beach. They supply wet suits to go diving so we checked out the many reefs and fish of Taiwan. There's some huge fish! No sharks.. thankfully. Taiwan has got the saltiest water! It stings your eyes just to dunk under. But the beaches were great. Unfortunately a typhoon hit on Thursday. We were planning on leaving Friday but had to go because of the extreme wind & rain. Check out the pictures!

Just to let you know, if you click on the small swirly circle beside the counter on the Entrance Page you will see a full report on who views my website, when, where, busiest times etc etc. It's pretty cool! Just added it a couple of weeks ago so it's not very up-to-date right now. Thanks to Stats4All for their great service. And it's free!

Okay. Here's the deal: I have my tickets booked for my flight home on August 20, 2002. That's exactly 3 months from today. I'm flying Taipei to Tokyo to Honolulu to Seattle to Vancouver. From there I'll take the bus then the ferry blah blah blah. All in all the total flight time is about 30 hours. Ouch. The total travel time is about 3 days (which is really 2 1/2 days because Taiwan is half a day ahead of Canada). Anywaays... I'll have 7 hours in Tokyo to do whatever and 4 hours in Honolulu so I might hit the beach while I'm there. ;o) Ehhck- talk about extreme jet lagg... :o/

Debra and Stephan (relatives working in Saudi Arabia) left Taiwan after their 10 day visit with us.

Bought a Benq 24x10x40 CD-Writer. CDs are dirt cheap in Taiwan.

I made this website so I can show you the pictures that I took of Taiwan! It took me about a week to design and write this entire site on my own. And no- it wasn't very easy! HTML is a huge language and new tags are coming out all the time. That's not to say it isn't interesting or fun... I enjoy being a "webmaster". It can just be extremely frustrating at times, like anything else! I've been using 1st Page 2000 to help me out. It's absolutely free and the website is www.evrsoft.com I strongly encourage anyone who's interested in HTML to at least check out this site. This program colorizes your tags, simplifies your coding with ready to use buttons and has this great real time preview so you can exactly what the page looks like as your writing HTML. Check out the screen shots.

If you want to know where I learned HTML, go to www.htmlgoodies.com. If you don't- read on! I plan on updating my site regularly whenever new pictures are taken. Do you like the new layout or did you even notice? Maybe some day I'll move off of Tripod and onto a new domain that doesn't have any annoying banners like that one up top. But I still recommend Tripod. First of all they are free. And I have 50MB to work with! I don't see why anybody should complain... Check them out at www.tripod.com if you're interested! Note- From now on, Tripod only gives 20MB to work with for free... I was lucky enough to start my account before this got into effect.

Bought myself a Kodak DC3200 Digital Camera and have taken lot's of pictures of Taiwan... as you can tell. It's 1.0 Megapixel and has a 2x Digital Zoom. I'm very satisfied with the quality. Digital is definitely the way to go! I can give you all these pictures for no cost other than batteries. I've used it for 3 months and it still works great... let's see how long it lasts!
